A day at RamOne, in needlz.

Romain runs his whole studio in needlz, from booking to the final payment. Here is what he does in it, step by step.

Romain is also a needlz co-founder. He designs the screens, while Nicolas Coutureau develops the application. Using it at the studio informs their work on the app.

AI-generated staged photos showing the real needlz screens (Figma mockup, sample data): neither Romain’s studio nor his clients.

  1. In the morning, the day on one screen

The home screen shows the day’s session and what is left to do, such as a session to take payment for. The calendar brings together sessions, consultations and personal appointments.

  2. One project, several sessions

A full back takes several sittings. The project keeps the completed sessions, the upcoming ones and those still to schedule, each with its price.

  3. Reminders and deposits, by text

needlz prepares the appointment reminder and the deposit message with the Stripe payment link. Romain sends them from his own number, and the payment shows up in the app. No needlz commission, only Stripe’s fees.

  4. Consent, signed before the session

The client fills in and signs the form on their phone before coming in. Romain finds the signed document with the appointment.

  5. Every ink, traced

Romain scans the label on his bottles: the lot number and expiry date are recorded. Each lot keeps the sessions it was used in, and so the clients to tell if it is recalled.

  6. A till where nothing is erased

Every payment goes into a chained cash journal: a mistake is cancelled, never erased. Bookkeeping shows the month’s income against its goal, and monthly closures export for the accountant.

  7. Every client, one record

The client record holds contact details, projects and session history. Romain calls or texts the client straight from it.

Behind the app, the studio.

RamOne Tattoo operates by appointment. Romain draws, prepares projects and tattoos at his studio in Chaponost.

Before tattooing, he was a graphic designer. Today he works in black and grey, neo-traditional, lettering and ornamental styles, from his flash designs or custom projects.
