Terms of use and sale

In force from 23 October 2026

These terms say what needlz does for your studio, what you commit to, and how the subscription is taken and ended. By creating your studio or continuing to use needlz, you accept them. They are a translation: the French version prevails.

1. Who we are

needlz is published by LACONI, a French limited liability company (EURL Laconi), registered with the Lyon Trade and Companies Register under number 992 320 549, whose registered office is 73 B rue François Chanvillard, 69630 Chaponost, France. Its other details are in the legal notice. In these terms, “we” means EURL Laconi.

The “Studio” is the tattoo or piercing professional who creates a studio in needlz, and each person who uses it on their behalf. A “Client” is a client of the Studio. needlz is meant for professionals: these terms are a contract between businesses.

2. The service

needlz is an iPhone and Android app for running a studio: calendar and opening hours, client records and projects, sessions, deposits and payments, consent forms signed online, session photos and videos, stock and product traceability, gift cards, messages and mailings, bookkeeping, a cash journal, and a public mini-site at the Studio’s own address.

We keep improving needlz: features may be added, changed or removed. We do not remove an essential feature during a subscription without telling you in advance.

The sample studio (“Try the demo”) is a sandbox: its data is fictional, nothing leaves it, and it is erased after seven days.

3. Your account

needlz has no password: you sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a six-digit code sent to your email address. You keep access to that address and those accounts to yourself, and you tell us at contact@needlz-app.com if you think someone else has access to them.

You give accurate information about your studio, and you are responsible for what is done from your account.

4. Free trial

Every studio has a 30-day free trial, from its creation, with every feature. The trial is run by needlz: no card is asked for, and it does not turn into a paid subscription on its own.

5. Subscription

After the trial, needlz is used with a monthly or yearly subscription, chosen in the app (Account icon, then Subscription). The subscription is bought only through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google), which show the price, take the payment and issue the receipt. Prices are those the store shows at the time of purchase, including taxes as your country requires.

The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same length, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your Apple or Google account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid. Refunds are asked of the store, which decides under its own rules.

On iPhone, the app is also subject to Apple’s standard licence agreement; on Android, to Google Play’s terms. Where they differ on billing, renewal or refunds, the store’s terms apply.

The first 100 subscribed studios get a founding price, which they keep for as long as they stay subscribed. A price rise for other subscriptions is announced in advance by the store, which asks for your consent where its rules require it.

One studio can be used on several phones: in the app, Account, Subscription, then Restore a purchase.

6. Without a subscription

At the end of the trial without a subscription, or at the end of a cancelled subscription, your studio becomes read-only: your appointments, clients, documents and payments stay readable, you can still collect what you are owed, but you can no longer add a client, a project or an event. Your data is not deleted. A subscription taken later reopens the studio as it was.

7. Your clients’ payments

Deposits, payment links and gift cards paid online go through Stripe, on your studio’s own Stripe account, which you open from needlz. You contract directly with Stripe, which verifies your identity and business, under the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and Stripe’s terms. Stripe pays the money into your own account: it does not pass through us.

needlz takes no commission on these payments; only Stripe’s fees apply, charged by Stripe. Payments in cash, by transfer or on another terminal are recorded by you in needlz; we do not process them.

You remain the seller of your services and gift cards to your clients: prices, cancellation terms, keeping or refunding a deposit, a gift card’s validity, invoices and any VAT are yours to decide.

8. Your mini-site

needlz hosts your studio’s public mini-site (gallery, aftercare, FAQ, reviews, “My project” form, gift cards), at a needlz-app.com address. You choose its content and decide when it is published: you guarantee you hold the rights to the texts, photos and videos you put on it, including the consent of the people photographed.

Your studio’s public Instagram posts and Google listing may be shown there if you link them. We may remove manifestly unlawful content reported to us, and tell you so.

9. Messages to your clients

Text messages (confirmations, reminders, deposit or consent links, campaigns) are prepared by needlz and sent by you, from your phone’s messaging app and with your own number: needlz does not send them itself.

The emails needlz sends for your studio (mailings, gift cards) leave at your request. You send them only to clients who may lawfully receive them, in particular for marketing; each mailing carries an unsubscribe link, which needlz honours.

10. Your commitments

You use needlz for your studio’s business, within the law: tattoo and piercing regulations, informing your clients and obtaining their consent, data protection law, accounting and tax obligations.

The consent forms, aftercare texts and messages needlz suggests are templates: you read and adapt them to your practice, and you remain responsible for what you have signed and sent.

You do not use needlz to send unlawful content, to access another studio’s data, or to disrupt or copy the service.

11. Cash journal

needlz keeps a cash journal: each payment received is entered, numbered and chained, cannot be edited or deleted, only cancelled with a reason or refunded, and signed closures are produced. We issue the publisher’s certificate the French tax administration provides for this software.

You remain responsible for your accounting and tax obligations: recording your takings, keeping your records, declaring your turnover. needlz replaces neither an accountant nor accounting software.

12. Personal data

For your account and your studio, we are the controller, as our privacy policy explains.

For your clients’ data, you are the controller and we act as your processor, within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR. This section is that contract. Subject and duration: hosting and processing this data to provide needlz to you, for as long as your account exists. Nature and purposes: storage, display, sending the messages and documents you ask for, payment collection, backup. Data: identity and contact details, date of birth, projects, appointments, payments, notes, session photos and videos, answers to the health questionnaire and signature of the consent form. Data subjects: your clients and the buyers or recipients of gift cards.

We process this data only on your instructions, given by your use of needlz; we use it for no other purpose, and neither sell it nor use it for advertising. The people who can access it on our side are bound to confidentiality.

We use the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, each limited to its task and bound by the same obligations; you authorise us to do so. We tell you of any new sub-processor at least 30 days in advance, by email or in the app; you may object by cancelling.

We protect this data with appropriate measures: hosting within the European Union, encryption in transit, access limited to your studio’s members, encrypted health answers, logging, backups. We help you answer your clients’ requests (access, rectification, erasure…) and, where needed, carry out an impact assessment.

We notify you of any data breach affecting your clients without undue delay, and at the latest 48 hours after becoming aware of it, with the information we have.

At the end of the contract, your clients’ data is erased as described in section 14. If you ask us at contact@needlz-app.com before deleting your account, we give you a copy of it in a common format.

We make available the information needed to show these obligations are met, and accept an audit, at most once a year, announced 30 days in advance, at your expense, without access to other studios’ data.

13. Availability and liability

We do our best to keep needlz running at all times, without being able to guarantee it: maintenance, updates, outages of our providers or of the network may interrupt it. We offer no service level agreement.

Our liability is limited to direct and foreseeable damage caused by a failure on our part, and capped at the amount you paid for needlz in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it. We are not liable for indirect damage (loss of turnover, of clients, of data you could have kept), nor for the services of Stripe, Apple, Google or your phone carrier. These limits do not apply to gross negligence or wilful misconduct, nor where the law forbids them.

14. Suspension, termination and account deletion

You can stop using needlz at any time: cancel the subscription in the store’s settings, and delete your account in the app (Account icon, then Delete my account).

When you delete your account, your clients, events and signed documents are permanently erased within 30 days. Payments already received stay in your Stripe account, and the cash journal is kept six years, as the law requires. Deleting the account does not stop a subscription taken on the App Store or Google Play: cancel it in their settings.

We may suspend or close a studio for a serious breach of these terms (unlawful content, fraud, harming the service’s security), after warning you, except in an emergency.

15. Intellectual property

needlz, its code, texts, templates and visuals belong to us. We grant you, for as long as you use it, a personal and non-exclusive right to use the app for your studio.

Your data and your content remain yours. You allow us to host, reproduce and display them only as far as needed to provide needlz to you, including on your published mini-site.

16. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. A significant change is announced to you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or in the app; if you do not accept it, you can cancel before that date. Continuing to use needlz afterwards means you accept it.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If we disagree, write to us first at contact@needlz-app.com: we look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the competent courts within the jurisdiction of the Lyon Court of Appeal have sole jurisdiction, including where there are several defendants or third-party claims.

These terms exist in French, English and Spanish; where they differ, the French version prevails.
